BuLLeT
A lone German Shepard walked with his noes low to the ground. His family was fast asleep. The dog probably had planned to go wonder the city, but tonight, his engraved color was gone. He slid it off right before he left. With ears pricked froward, Bullet was well aware of his surroundings. Even though it was dark and this was a nice place, he did not want to go to the pound. He'd hear storied from his owners about dogs never coming back. The dog shivered at the thought.
He speed up his pace and past a few houses. With his head up high the canine felt a cool rush of air ruffle his fur. He heard a noise and shot his head around. Could it be a dog? A street dog? He did not see anything at first so he went back walking. The street was full of new smells, even though he did not dare to go very far. Suddenly, he heard it again and looked behind him. The thought he saw something and turned his body around. Bullet's green eyes shown under a street lamp. The German Shepard did not speak, but instead, tried to find out if his mind was playing ticks on him.

'I look around and I feel like... things change and I don't know why.'
Shana walked quietly down the street, only the tick-tack-tick of her claws giving her away. It seemed eerie to some, but Shana didn't mind light or dark, both were fine to her. She walked passed several fancy houses. Her house had never been fancy, but she had loved it the same anyway. She loved her old owners, and her human pups. She loved everything about her old family, even if there was no human father there. Then everything was taken from her, due to an illness she caused. That still hurt her heart, in many, many ways.
She dried her eyes on her paw, then looked up to see a strapping German Shepherd standing under a streetlight. She smiled and padded over. She gave a short bark before getting all the way to him, so that he knew she was there. It was a kind bark, no hesitation or aggression in it. Once she got to him and the light, she perked up.
"Hello. I'm Shana. What's your name, big fella?" Shana said with a kind smile, her tags dangling just bellow her neck. The name tag read "Shana. Beloved Family Pet." and had her address on it. She cocked her head to the side, and perked her floppy ears up and looked at the German Shepherd.

Bullet looked ahead and started. He started wagging his tail and walked closer. He was glad to see that this dog was friendly. As she was walking he noticed a color and dog tags, but could not make out what they said at first. But it did not matter, at least she had a color. And to him, that meant she was not a street dog.
"I'm Bullet." He said awkwardly, looking at her in the eyes. He had never been around. He had never been around girl dogs much, and you could said he didn't know how to act. He could tell she was tan and white with long fur. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut short.
"Bullet! Bullet!" He turned his head as he heard his family looking for him. 'One of the children must of had a bad dream' He was getting ready to leave but looked at Shana. All his training to him to come, but would be rude for him to leave now. Ad how often was it that he could meet another dog?
"Family." He muttered, looking at her, his name still being persistently called. He looked back and sighed. But did not leave.

'I look around and I feel like... things change and I don't know why.'
Shana's ear turned in the direction of the child calling Bullet's name. She looked in the houses direction, the sighed and looked down. She was remembering when he Human Pups would call out her name. Now, she didn't have any Human Pups to play with anymore. Shana looked up and gave Bullet a smile.
"it's all right. Go to your Human Pup, he seems to miss you. I can wait here for you if you want to come back and talk." Shana said with a half-hearted smile. She smiled at him sweetly, the fact that he was ale didn't bother her.
Though he was cute. That did set off a little spark in her brain. He seemed nice enough, but only time would tell if he was really nice. Any male that was nice to her she liked, but she wasn't purebred, and only thought of a few breeds good enough for her; German Shepherds, Labs, and Golden Retrievers. Other breeds just didn't suite her well.

Give up your way, you could be anything
The dog paused for a second and looked at her, then changes his glance to the black collar. "Shouldn't you be home?" He whispered and thought that she didn't hear. Bullet turned around the leaved but looked back. "Care to join me?" He snatched his head back. 'Stupid. Why did I ask that?' He sighed and walked on. To him, he had sounded stupid and terrible. But The sound of his name sent him running.
He got to the home and stood at the fence, seeing if she had come, even though he did not expect her too come. With a worried look on his face, the canine crawled under a hole he had dug long ago. He scratched on the door and waited. Nothing. He didn't hear his name being called. He whined but got no response, and the door was still closed.

'I look around and I feel like... things change and I don't know why.'
Shana heard him. 'Shouldn't you be home?' ... That stung. Of course he thought she was a house dog, she had her collar and tags still on. She frowned as more memories of her old home came to her. Then another question came. 'Care to join me' Would she like to join him? To see what one of those fancy houses and fancy humans looked like? Not her. She'd rather stay with her old human family, she'd loved them and they were rather poor.
She followed him anyway though, a smile plastered on her pretty face. Se followed him as far as the hole dug under the fence, then she waited for him to invite her in, or come back out. She expected it might take him a while, so she sat down. He had humans that loved him. Hers were gone already.

He turned to look at her and was afriad that he said something to offend her. Bullet sighed and pawed at the door. still nothing. He looked up at a second story window and saw the lights on. "Don't worry. He's okay now." The dog smiled for a moment and walked to Shana, giving her a small kiss as he went out of the fence.
He stopped and waited for her. But then he lowered his head. "I've wrecked it, I've wrecked it!" He muttered under his breath.

'I look around and I feel like... things change and I don't know why.'
"Is that so? Your human pups seem to really like you." Shana said with a smile. She watched him as he came out of the fence. He gave her a small kiss, which, did, actually shock her a bit. They had only just met, anyway. She wouldn't say anything about it though, since she wanted to be friends with him before anything else. he followed him, and heard him mutter under his breath that he had wrecked it.
"no you haven't. I just want to be friends before anything serious though, okay?" Shana said with a big smile. She did think that he needed to know that she belonged to the town, and not to a specific family, though. But they could talk about that later. Where was he leading her, she wondered? She followed him though, walking beside him.
The silence was a bit awkward, so she tried to see if she could start a conversation. "So, you love your family, huh? They seem to really like you a lot." Shana said with a fake smile and fake happiness. She was happy that he had a good home, but it made her sad that she didn't have hers back.

BuLLeT Give up your way, you can be anything He smiled, a bit embarrassed. "Oh, um, yeah, they sure do seem to love me. I would love to say with them but..." He cut off and lowered his voice. "Its just, they don't always have time for me. Lots of times I thought about becoming a street dog, but then something like that happens." Bullet said, remembering them calling his name. Times like that told him he couldn't leave them But then when they would get so busy they never even took him for walks. He was always split on the decision.
He tried to lighten the mood and spoke with a much lighter tone. "Enough about my family, what about yours?" He smiled, hoping he hadn't said something wrong to her. Looking at her, he had to admit. She was pretty.

'I look around and I feel like... things change and I don't know why.'
Shana listened while he explained himself about his family. "I would never be able to leave my family, no matter what they did." Shana said sadly, looking to the side. She padded forward a bit, and then he asked about her family. With a sigh, she jumped on a Trash Can, then onto a tree branch beside it.
"I don't have a family. Not anymore. When their Human Mother died, they took my Human Pups from me too. Then I was taken to the Pound. I got away though, and now I live with the entire town." Shana said, looking down sadly at her tags. They were still shiny and golden, her name encrusted into them as the beloved family pet.
She sat down on the tree branch, and gazed down at him. "Bullet, I'm a Street Dog." She said to him, her smile gone now, replaced by nothing at all. Her face was plain as she looked at him.
'Everyday that passes by, I feel like so far away.'
